One of the country’s top excess and surplus lines carriers has announced a major leadership shuffle, as it welcomes a new environmental business leader
Colony Specialty has appointed industry veteran Kelly Killimett to head its environmental business. She replaces
Marsh Duncan who will head the firm’s digital business development.The firm is a member of the
Argo Group, an international underwriter of specialty insurance and reinsurance products in the P&C market. Killimett will report directly to Ron Vindivich, president,
Argo Group U.S. Excess & Surplus Lines.
“Kelly has developed deep expertise by working in the environmental business for many years, especially in working side-by-side with Marsh for the past five years. She is the natural leader to take our environmental business to the next level,” said Kevin Rehnberg, president of Argo Group’s U.S. Operations.
Killimett joined Colony in 2012, and was promoted to her current role as vice president of underwriting in 2014. Before that, she was a manager and underwriter in the environmental department at American Safety Insurance Services. She started her career as a retail account manager at Wachovia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in risk management and insurance.
Argo Group and its subsidiaries – including Colony Specialty – currently have an “A” (excellent) financial strength rating from A.M. Best as of November 2016.
