Old Republic International Corp. has named CJ Pruzinsky and Kevin McGowan to lead the new underwriting subsidiary it is forming.
The new subsidiary, to be called Old Republic Cyber Inc., will focus on providing cyber and technology errors and omission insurance products, as well as specialized cyber- and technology-related coverage.
Old Republic Cyber will be the seventh specialty company that Old Republic has launched in the last nine years, the company said.
Pruzinsky was appointed president of the subsidiary, while McGowan was named executive vice president and chief underwriting officer.
Craig Smiddy, president and chief executive of Old Republic, said that the company will benefit from the expertise of both Pruzinsky and McGowan.
“We are excited to have both CJ and Kevin join Old Republic and expand our underwriting expertise and appetite into new lines of coverage that align with our specialty strategy and our focus on underwriting excellence,” he said.
In 2023, Old Republic formed Old Republic Accident and Health Inc., an underwriting subsidiary offering accident and health insurance products. Gary Nidd, who has more than 33 years of experience in the industry, was appointed president.
Based in Chicago, Old Republic, through its subsidiaries, actively markets, underwrites and provides a wide range of risk management services, with a primary focus on the general and title insurance sectors. It also holds a place on the Fortune 500 listing of America’s largest companies.
The company said its general insurance business ranks among the nation’s 50 largest, while its title insurance business is the third largest in its industry.
