Specialist insurer Beazley has appointed Melissa Carmichael (pictured) as US cyber head with immediate effect.
Making the switch from Aon where she served as managing director and specialty & middle market leader, Carmichael brings more than 25 years of industry experience to Beazley.
Of those two and a half decades, over 16 years were spent at Marsh where she was managing director and financial & professional liability practice leader in New York.

Based in New York, the new head of US cyber will report to global cyber risks head Paul Bantick.

In the US, Beazley’s underwriters focus on writing a range of specialist insurance products. In the admitted market, coverage is provided by Beazley Insurance Company, an A-rated carrier licensed in all 50 states, and its subsidiary Beazley America Insurance Company.
In the surplus lines market, coverage is provided by Beazley Excess and Surplus Insurance and the Beazley syndicates at Lloyd’s.
