AXIS Capital Holdings has announced the launch of a new service for US-based, direct primary cyber insurance customers, called AXIS Cyber Incident Commander.

The service provides policyholders who experience a cyber incident with a single point of contact to access immediate guidance from experienced cyber experts.

Incident Commander offers services including legal counsel, digital forensics, incident response, and crisis and reputation management. These services are provided by AXIS-approved third-party vendors that work closely with the AXIS Cyber Risk Advisory and Cyber Claims team to support customer recovery after an incident.

The service is available 24/7, 365 days a year, and can be accessed by email or phone. It provides rapid triage and support from the moment an incident occurs until the case is transferred to the cyber claims team for further management.

“By providing streamlined, rapid access to the services customers need in a cyber incident, AXIS Cyber Incident Commander aims to help get businesses back up and running more quickly, minimize the impact of the incident, and reduce the stress in what can be a complex and unnerving process,” AXIS head of cyber risk advisory David Shluger (pictured above) said.

Nicholas PR Steinmann will lead Incident Commander as part of AXIS Cyber Risk Advisory. Steinmann, who has a background in digital forensics and incident response, joined AXIS in May 2024 and is based in New York.

Lori Bailey, head of global cyber and technology at AXIS, added that understanding cyber threats and strengthening defenses against them is central to AXIS Cyber Risk Advisory.

“The launch of Incident Commander, and the appointment of Nick to our team, enables us to expand the risk advisory solutions we provide to help businesses prepare, protect, and respond to cyber risks amid an evolving cyber risk landscape,” Bailey said.
