QBE North America has announced the appointment of Ryan Powers (pictured above) as senior vice president and head of construction.
Powers will report to Mike Foley, president of commercial insurance for QBE North America. In his new role, Powers will be responsible for the company’s vision for casualty lines for the construction industry. He will also establish and oversee a coordinated underwriting approach for the sector.

Powers has more than 17 years of industry experience. Prior to joining QBE he served in leadership roles at Liberty Mutual, most recently as chief underwriting officer.
Powers is the latest addition to the talent roster at QBE. Last week, the company announced the appointment of Julie Wood as CEO of its North America division.
The company also recently announced a collaboration with non-profit Tech Goes Home aimed at bolstering digital equity.
