Industrial lines insurer HDI Global SE has announced key appointments in its US engineering lines and construction casualty practices.
The company has appointed Carisa Winters as senior engineering lines underwriter. In this role, Winters will be responsible for leading the US engineering lines’ two largest segments, civil engineering completed risks and special risks (equipment breakdown and renewable energy). The two segments account for more than half of the lines’ gross written premium. Winters has nearly two decades of industry experience, and has held various underwriting and management positions at Winward Specialty, RSUI Group and DirectFac.
Brad Wilkinson, meanwhile, has joined HDI as an engineering lines property underwriter. In this role, he will work with Winters in developing and executing the strategy for HDI’s US engineering lines division. Prior to joining HDI, Wilkinson served as commercial middle-market and equipment breakdown underwriting specialist at CNA Financial.
Finally, Alexander LaBelle has been appointed senior construction liability underwriter. In his new role, LaBelle will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to drive growth for the US construction liability portfolio. He joins HDI after serving as a senior excess and surplus casualty underwriter for Ironshore.
“HDI continues to attract top-quality talent to our underwriting organization,” said Mark Groenheide, HDI vice president and engineering lines underwriting manager. “We are thrilled to have a collection of seasoned insurance professionals join our team. Their expertise in the engineering lines and construction marketplace advances our efforts to grow our property and casualty business, and I have no doubt that our clients and partners will benefit enormously from the wealth of experience they bring to HDI.”
