Westchester, the excess and surplus (E&S) lines division of Chubb, has announced changes to its leadership team within its Programs business.

Nick Gatt (pictured above, left), formerly the chief operating officer for Westchester Programs, has been promoted to head of Westchester Programs. In his new role, Gatt will oversee strategy, underwriting, and profitability for the business.

He will report to Dave Lupica, division president of Westchester. Gatt succeeds Franklin Sanders, who has been named head of global underwriting for Chubb Group.

Shawn Parker (pictured above, right), previously senior vice president of Westchester Program Services, has been appointed chief operating officer for the Programs business. Parker will take on responsibilities previously held by Gatt.

Westchester says that the appointments aim to strengthen strategic oversight and support the division’s managing general agent (MGA) portfolio and direct-to-consumer channels.

Commenting on the leadership changes, Lupica highlighted the contributions of both Gatt and Parker to the Programs business.

“Nick and Shawn are exceptional leaders, each uniquely equipped to excel in their new roles,” Lupica said. “Both have been instrumental in shaping our Programs business, and their expertise and strong relationships with team members, our portfolio and business partners will ensure a seamless transition.”

Earlier this year, Lupica, formerly chief operating and distribution management officer at the company, was appointed vice president at Chubb Group and division president of Westchester.

Lupica has over 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined Chubb (formerly ACE) in 2000 as executive vice president of ACE USA's Professional Risk Division. He later served as division president of ACE Commercial Risk Services and division president of ACE Westchester Professional Lines.

In 2016, he was appointed chief operating officer of Westchester. Before joining ACE, Lupica held management positions at Starr Excess Liability Company Inc, Alexander & Alexander (now Aon), and AIG. He holds a bachelor of arts degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
