USAA has named Tami Cabaniss (pictured) as its new chief human resources officer (CHRO). According to a news release, Cabaniss will spearhead the company’s talent strategy with an aim to enhance USAA’s culture, rooted in support of the military community and their families.

Reporting to president and CEO Wayne Peacock, Cabaniss will oversee USAA’s talent acquisition, talent development and pay and benefits programs, as well as employee support services.

Cabaniss brings over two decades of HR leadership experience to USAA, having previously served as a senior vice president at PayPal. Her background includes senior roles at Hewlett-Packard and Fox Interactive Media.

“Tami’s passion for our mission, coupled with her experienced HR leadership, will help us sustain and build on our strong culture while we ensure our teammates are equipped and ready to serve members with excellence today and in the future,” said Peacock. “Tami brings a unique perspective that will help accelerate our progress building the skills, teams, and agility to deliver on our mission in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.”

USAA, founded in 1922 by a group of military officers, serves over 13.5 million members, including US military personnel, veterans, and their families. The company offers a range of financial services, including insurance, banking, and retirement solutions. Headquartered in San Antonio, USAA employs more than 37,000 people globally and maintains offices in eight US cities and three international locations.
