Topa Insurance Group has announced the promotion of Susan Pavone (pictured) to vice president of underwriting.
Pavone joined Topa in 2016 as senior brokerage operations and compliance manager. She was then promoted to assistant vice president of underwriting. In that role, she streamlined many of the company’s internal and external processes.
In her new role, Pavone will oversee the commercial underwriting of Topa Insurance Company and be responsible for setting underwriting strategies, overall underwriting portfolio management, guidelines, and production.
“We are thrilled to have Susan in this expanded leadership position,” said Michael Day, president and CEO of Topa Insurance Group. “Susan’s strong work ethic and leadership qualities make her a critical member of our team as we continue to focus on and grow our commercial lines business and products. I look forward to her continued success.”
Pavone has more than 30 years of industry experience. She has worked in various leadership positions in underwriting, operations, investment, claims and technology. She holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Market Conduct Management designations. Pavone is the underwriting chair on the California FAIR Plan’s underwriting committee and previously served as the vice president of the El Camino CPCU chapter.
“I am honored to lead and work with a team of dedicated underwriting professionals,” Pavone said. “I look forward to our team’s continued growth and am excited to continue my work in this new role.”
