The Hilb Group (THG) has acquired Wickford Insurance Agency (WIA) in Rhode Island.
WIA is a full-service P&C insurance agency which serves both individuals and businesses throughout Rhode Island. A release said that following the acquisition, WIA’s associates will join THG’s operations in Rhode Island under the management of Chris Schneider and Derek Schneider, WIA’s agency leaders.
“WIA has provided excellent customer service since 1984,” commented THG New England O&C practice leader Joe Padula. “By joining THG, WIA’s customers will continue to receive the same degree of service that they have come to expect, plus the additional capabilities and expertise available through THG.”
“The experience and market relationships that Chris, Derek and WIA bring to THG will continue to fuel the growth of our existing property & casualty division in the New England region,” added THG CEO Ricky Spiro.

In November, THG acquired Employee Benefit Advisors of the Carolinas (EBA) in Charlotte, NC. EBA is a full-service employee benefits agency that serves small to mid-market businesses in the region.
