The Hartford has announced the creation of its Global Specialty Digital Solutions business unit, which will focus on the digital provision of specialty and wholesale insurance products.

The Hartford has named Mark Azzolino as the head of this new unit and he will report to Adrien Robinson, the company’s head of global specialty.

Azzolino will be responsible for increasing distribution and access to the unit’s suite of digital capabilities including its Pronto portal, which allows an agent or broker to submit, quote and bind specialty wholesale products within minutes. Azzolino will also explore new partnerships with agents and brokers, as well as embedded solutions, to bolster The Hartford’s digital potential while also bringing in new specialty and whole insurance products into the digital realm.

“We have more than a dozen specialty insurance products being digitally transacted across five distinct digital channels in Global Specialty,” said Robinson. “Continuing to expand our digital capabilities will further help us to serve the evolving needs of the specialty marketplace.”

Having previously served as The Hartford’s head of management liability in Global Specialty’s Financial Lines segment, Azzolino was responsible for its private and not-for-profit liability clients. Additionally, he also supervised the sales and process execution for management and professional liability lines of business.

“Mark brings significant experience to his new role having managed digital distribution for The Hartford’s Financial Lines and having successfully led Global Specialty’s integration of standalone insurance products within several digital platforms. We’re confident that under Mark’s leadership, brokers will find continued ease and success in placing their specialty insurance with The Hartford,” said Robinson.

In other news

The Hartford recently appointed Jack Bardrick as the head of distribution for its Global Specialty International division. In this role, Bardrick will manage broker partnerships, develop growth initiatives across all specialty product lines within the syndicate and facilitate new business opportunities.
