Sedgwick has announced the launch of a new residential property claims technology model, aimed at streamlining the claims process for low-complexity residential property claims.
The web-based platform allows policyholders to easily initiate claims, document damages, measure affected areas, request repairs, and swiftly complete the entire process with minimal effort, Sedgwick said. Policyholders can access these features through their mobile devices.
The platform also provides adjusters with an efficient tool to address staffing shortages or sudden spikes in claims volume. Using real-time decision-making capabilities, the technology employs a sophisticated algorithm to evaluate policy coverage and industry-standard repair estimates, enabling adjusters to optimize their workflow and efficiently assist a larger number of individuals, Sedgwick said.
“With Sedgwick’s latest technology solution, we sought to address the challenges presented by high-volume, low-complexity claims — including cycle time — while giving a big boost to customer satisfaction, which can lag when adjuster resources are thin,” said Mason Bartleson, vice president of process design and operational excellence at Sedgwick. “The result is an end-to-end management system that leverages our smart triage technology and an independent pricing database to fast-track low-touch losses. Insurers can process these non-complex losses more efficiently and in less time than traditional claims handling methods.”
In addition to facilitating settlement offers, the platform offers the capability to arrange referrals for restoration and repairs through its repair solutions network. Policyholders can accept the settlement offer or, if desired, request further evaluation by the appropriate adjusting team. In cases where extensive damage necessitates temporary relocation, Sedgwick's temporary housing team is available to assist policyholders in finding suitable alternative housing options.
“The support of an experienced loss adjuster has always been a hallmark of Sedgwick’s customer service,” Bartleson said. “By combining simple intake with prompt settlement and the option to contact an adjuster for assistance, we can continue to resolve claims quickly and accurately.”
Sedgwick also recently announced the launch of Sedgwick Government Solutions, a new venture aimed at expanding the company’s presence in the federal market. The company also recently announced the acquisition of Appraisal Service of Mississippi.
