In an industry in which the majority of leadership roles are still dominated by men, the women in the last year’s showcase proved that they are slowly changing the status quo.
After receiving numerous nominations from readers across the country, IBA recognized last year’s list of 68 ground-breaking women who have overcome obstacles and broken down barriers to become some of the industry’s top professionals – now, Insurance Business America believes that 2020 will be no different.
“It is important to celebrate the success of women in the industry, and I encourage the insurance community to nominate deserving leaders who are making a difference on where they work and where they live. As a mother, it is my hope that my daughter and other young women understand that they can make a difference one day,” says Laura Drabik, of Guidewire, named in the Elite Women 2019 list.
Inclusion is not only a recognition of the work done by these women of influence, but also an affirmation that the industry continues to grow and fosters gender equality among colleagues and friends.
