US-based managing general underwriter SageSure Insurance Managers is marking the 10-year anniversary of its first written policy by looking back at its past accomplishments.
The residential property MGU issued its first policy on September 17, 2009, on behalf of IAT Insurance Group. Since then, SageSure has become a successful enterprise with nearly 300 employees and over 250,000 policyholders served.
“Our goal from the beginning was to be the industry-leading insurance provider for homeowners in cat-exposed areas,” said SageSure CEO Terrence McLean (pictured) in a statement, adding that he and his team believed that there would be an “ongoing opportunity” to serve high-risk markets where it is difficult to find competitive and reliable property insurance.
SageSure – a subsidiary of insurtech firm Insight Catastrophe Group (ICG) – has since partnered with many highly-rated insurance companies, such as IAT Insurance Group, FedNat Insurance Company, Service Insurance Company, and Independent Mutual Fire Insurance Company.
Independent Mutual Fire was the latest company to partner up with SageSure; the collaboration was unveiled in April this year.
“From our first written policy to today, SageSure has been a strong, professional, and dependable partner,” commented IAT Insurance Group SVP of programs William Teed. “We are proud to commemorate our 10 years of partnership and look forward to continued mutual success for years to come.”
At present, SageSure offers 41 residential products in 14 states. A release noted that next year, the company will expand into commercial lines.
