With over three decades of experience in insurance distribution strategies, Shawn Yingling (pictured) has taken on a new challenge as chief retail distribution officer at Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers (RSUM).
Through this appointment, RSUM expects to enhance its specialty insurance offerings and deepen its relationships with industry partners.
Yingling brings 35 years of industry expertise, including leadership roles in alternative distribution channels. His previous position was as North American alternative channels distribution leader at a global insurance firm, where he worked with managing general underwriters, program administrators, and group captive administrators. Yingling has also held executive, distribution, and technical roles, building a network of connections with brokers, program managers, and carriers.
“I feel very fortunate to join such a great platform of specialty insurance offerings. I look forward to working closely with the many experienced underwriters and talented leaders that make RSUM so respected in the industry," said Yingling.
Miles Wuller, president and CEO of Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers, emphasized the value Shawn Yingling brings to the team, citing his extensive expertise and fresh perspective on distribution strategies.

Ryan Specialty offers distribution, underwriting, product development, and risk management solutions, functioning as both a wholesale broker and a managing underwriter with delegated authority from insurance carriers.
The RSUM division specializes in delegated authority underwriting, encompassing property and casualty managing general underwriters, national programs, and alternative risk solutions.
