A series of strategic appointments have been announced across the insurance and aerospace sectors, with notable leaders taking on new roles to steer their companies forward. Significant appointments include Steve Keogh as chief operating officer at Ryan Specialty, Everett Hansen as US nuclear leader at Marsh Specialty, and Eric Donofrio as chief underwriting officer at Global Aerospace.
Ryan Specialty, a global specialty insurance firm, has named Steve Keogh as chief operating officer, effective May 1, 2025. Keogh brings with him a wealth of experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on operational and leadership roles.
“We have known Steve for many years and have great respect for his business acumen, judgement and character. We’re very much looking forward to having Steve as a part of our executive team,” said Tim Turner.
“I have known the Ryan Specialty executive team for many years and have watched with admiration the growth of their firm since its inception in 2010. It is an honor to join them,” said Keogh.
Marsh, a leading insurance broker and risk advisor, has appointed Everett Hansen as US nuclear leader, Marsh Specialty. In this new role, Hansen will lead a team specializing in risk and insurance solutions for the expanding US nuclear industry. The company stated that Hansen’s extensive background, including his tenure as a US naval nuclear submarine officer, positions him as a key figure in this growing sector.
Hansen joined Marsh in 2023. In his new role, he will report to both Begnaud and Jim Palaia, US and Canada nuclear energy leader.
“As global energy demand increases and the industry continues to evolve, we recognize the critical role that clean energy sources, particularly nuclear energy, play in this transition. I’m confident that under Everett’s leadership, we will continue to provide the innovative risk and insurance solutions that support the growing demand for nuclear fission and fusion energy worldwide,” said Begnaud.
Global Aerospace, a leading provider of aviation and aerospace insurance, has appointed Donofrio as chief underwriting officer. With nearly 30 years of industry experience, Donofrio comes from AXA XL Insurance, where he previously held the role of chief underwriting officer, specialties Americas.
Based in Morris Plains, New Jersey, Donofrio will oversee US underwriting operations and will report to Jeffrey Bruno, president and group chief underwriting officer. “His expertise in aviation and commitment to excellence align perfectly with our vision for the future,” said Bruno.
“I am honored to be joining a team of world-class professionals and leaders in the aerospace insurance industry. Global has an impressive history and I am looking forward to being part of the team's future,” said Donofrio.
