Ryan Specialty’s wholesale insurance distributor RT Specialty has promoted Jason Lentz (pictured) to president of its national high net worth personal lines practice RT Specialty High Net Worth.
In his elevated role, Lentz will lead the ongoing growth of RT Specialty High Net Worth, which offers a wide range of personal lines products to retail agents and brokers.
Lentz’s promotion comes on the heels of a new distribution trading partnership between Ryan Specialty and Private Client Select Insurance Services(PCS). The latter, a managing general underwriter majority-owned by American International Group and Stone Point Capital, designated RT Specialty’s parent firm as its exclusive wholesale broker in the US high and ultra-high net worth markets.
The new RT Specialty HNW president brings nearly 20 years of insurance industry expertise, with the past eight years dedicated to enhancing the wholesale broker’s personal lines practice. A US Marine Corps veteran, Lentz is based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
RT Specialty chair and chief executive Tim Turner commented on the promotion, stating: “Jason has been key to building out RT Specialty’s high net worth personal lines offerings. He has outstanding relationships throughout the industry and a deep understanding of the sector.
“As RT Specialty expands its role in the high net worth personal lines market, I am thrilled to recognize Jason in his new position.”
Aside from Lentz’s new role, other changes at RT Specialty include the division’s upcoming leadership switch.
Turner, who will become CEO of Ryan Specialty in October while retaining his chairmanship at RT Specialty, will be succeeded by Edward McCormack. Also, Brenda (Ballard) Austenfeld and Michael VanAcker will serve as RT Specialty co-presidents.
“I’m very excited about these well-earned promotions,” Turner said when the succession plan was announced. “All of these individuals are proven strategic leaders, have more than a decade of experience in senior positions within RT Specialty, and enjoy excellent relationships with clients, carrier trading partners, the larger insurance industry, and the entire RT Specialty team.”
