QBE North America marks ninth year as top adoption-friendly workplace

QBE North America has been named a recipient of the Adoption-Friendly Workplace Award from the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption for the ninth consecutive year.

The company ranked 46th out of the top 100 organizations recognized this year, improving from 83rd in 2023, and topped the list in the insurance category.

QBE supports employees' adoption efforts by offering a minimum of 12 weeks of paid parental leave through its Balanced Beginnings program, and up to $15,000 in financial reimbursement.

Additionally, the company provides working parents with guidance on preparing for parental leave and returning to work, backup childcare options, childcare discounts, special needs assistance, and educational advising.

Our Adoption Assistance Program underscores our commitment to offering meaningful resources for employees welcoming children into their families through adoption,” QBE North America chief people officer Rachel Pollack said.

Since 2007, the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption has compiled an annual list of the top adoption-friendly workplaces. The Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces are determined by analyzing financial assistance and paid leave for families who adopt, based on surveys completed by employers.

In other recent developments, the insurer has also introduced an updated paid parental leave policy called “Balanced Beginnings,” extending significant benefits to its employees involved in adoption, birth, fostering, or surrogacy.

The program guarantees a minimum of 12 weeks of paid leave to all parents, irrespective of gender, and can extend up to 22 weeks under certain conditions related to family expansion.
