Progressive Insurance plans to hire thousands of employees in 2025 as it continues to expand operations across the United States.
The second-largest auto insurer in the country will offer a combination of remote, in-office, and hybrid roles across claims, customer care, IT, analyst, legal, and corporate functions.
The company has recorded steady growth over the past decade, with consistent year-over-year increases in both policies in force and net premiums written.
In 2024, Progressive added just over five million policies and grew net premiums written by 21% to $74.4 billion. In the first quarter of 2025, the insurer reported an additional 1.3 million policies in force. To support this growth and a larger customer base, Progressive is seeking candidates for a wide range of positions.
Neil Lenane, Progressive business leader of talent acquisition noted that by having a flexible workplace approach, the insurer is able to meet the needs of current employees and to reach job seekers where they are.
The company's talent acquisition team has launched Destination: Progress, an employer brand campaign featured on its career site and social media platforms. The initiative highlights employee career development opportunities and emphasizes the potential for long-term careers at Progressive.
Progressive’s hiring efforts in 2025 will focus on several key areas. In claims, the company is recruiting for entry-level roles such as claims adjuster trainee and field adjuster trainee, as well as experienced positions including claims specialist and claims adjuster auto damage. Many claims roles are remote, with hybrid and in-office options available in Massachusetts, Florida, Texas, New York, and South Carolina.
Furthermore, the company’s customer care department is expanding with a range of call center positions, including Spanish bilingual representatives and licensed insurance agents. The in-house legal team is also hiring defense attorneys in Sherman Oaks, California; Atlanta, Georgia; Long Island, New York, and multiple cities in Florida and Texas. Other openings include positions for territory sales representatives, data scientists, and production print mail specialists, the company said.
Earlier this month, Progressive introduced new coverage options for its commercial customers. It launched Cargo Plus, an endorsement for for-hire truckers, which is available in 42 states. The product extends Progressive’s existing motor truck cargo policy. It also adds protection against damage caused by wetness, rust and corrosion, among others.
