PIANY elects new directors and officers for 2019-20

The Professional Insurance Agents of New York State (PIANY) elected new officers and directors of the board during its most recent annual business meeting.

Members of the trade association and its partner association, the New York Young Insurance Professionals (NY-YIP) recently convened for their annual business meeting in Glenmont, NY to elect the officers and directors.

PIANY elected five individuals to its board of directors. Four of the individuals were reelected to serve another three-year term ending 2022, while Lande is a new addition to the board:

• Jason Bartow, AAI, CPIA, executive vice-president of Eugene A. Bartow Insurance Agency
• Raymond J. Gillis Sr., FIC, FICF, president of Fire Mark Insurance Agency, owner of Lewis Wilson Insurance and JO & D Insurance
• Jeffrey Leibowitz, CEO of Atlantic Agency Insurance & Risk Management
• John Tomassi, CPCU, partner in CLG Insurance
• David Lande, JD, CIC, account executive for EPIC Insurance Brokers and Consultants

In addition to his reelection on to the board, John Tomassi was also named president of PIANY. He has been an active member of the trade association, having served as president-elect in 2018-19; vice-president in 2016-18; and treasurer in 2015-16. Tomassi has also served on the board of directors since 2013.

PIANY has also elected the following officers for the 2019-20 term:

• Anthony Kammas, president of Skyline Risk Management, as PIANY president-elect
• Tim Dean, CIC, CRM, president of Marshall & Sterling, as PIANY first vice-president
• David Sidle II, CIC, CPIA, president and CEO of David L. Sidle Agency, reelected as PIANY vice-president
• Michael Loguercio, independent broker and producer for Atlantic Agency, as PIANY vice-president
• Gino Orrino, CPIA, principal of Orrino Capital Services, as PIANY treasurer
• Gary Slavin, CLTC, CIC, owner of Slavin Benefits, as PIANY secretary
• Jamie Ferris, AAI, CIC, CPIA, president of P.W. Wood & Son, as PIANY immediate past president

NY-YIP also elected officers of its own:

• Dina Bruno, CPIA of Main Street America/NGM as president
• Ed Chadwick of Russell Bond & Co. as first vice-president
• Anna Kodryanu, CPCU, ARM of Burns & Wilcox as vice-president of membership
• Audrey Carlson of Stetson Insurance Funding as vice-president of programs
• Michael Ascher, WCP of New Age Underwriters as treasurer
• Scott Richards of Sentinel Solutions as secretary
• Jason Bartow, AAI, CPIA of Eugene A. Bartow Insurance Agency as immediate past president

In addition to the officers, NY-YIP also elected four individuals to its board of directors:

• Marshall Glass of Iroquois Group
• Ryan Kelly of New York Central Mutual
• Tyler Molina of Lawley Service
• Ian Sterling, CLCS, of Sterling & Sterling
