Tech-driven insurance brokerage Newfront has announced that its chief executive has been recognized among the top young executives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Spike Lipkin (pictured above), co-founder and CEO of San Francisco-based Newfront, has been named to the San Francisco Business Times 2023 “40 Under 40” list.
The list recognizes 40 business leaders under the age of 40 that have made significant contributions to their company and the Bay Area, Newfront said.
Candidates are evaluated on their achievements and contributions to their companies and communities in the area. Winners were honored last week during a banquet at the Westin St. Francis Hotel.
“This honor is really a recognition of our team,” Lipkin said. “I just have the privilege of representing them.”
Founded in 2017, Newfront has since grown to become a top-40 broker based on revenue. The company has more than 850 employees and offices throughout the country.

Prior to starting Newfront, Lipkin was one of the first employees of online real estate agency Opendoor. He was also an investor at Blackstone, where he served the startup team that grew Invitation Homes into the country’s largest owner of single-family real estate.
Last month, Newfront announced the appointment of Jennifer Wilson as head of cyber. The company also recently tapped Microsoft veteran Greg Kaplan as senior vice president for its retirement services team.
