Christine Neighbors has been named 1 of 3 winners of the 2015 Robert Dineen Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the State Regulation of Insurance. She is deputy director and general counsel in the
Nebraska Department of Insurance. She received the award at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (
NAIC) Fall National Meeting, just held in Maryland.
“Christy is known nationally for her tremendous work with international insurance matters and has developed a great deal of respect for her work on the subject matter of insurance group supervision,” said Nebraska Insurance Director Bruce Ramge. “Christy’s work benefits Nebraskans and the US insurance industry.”
Neighbors serves as chair of the NAIC Group Solvency Issues Working Group and as vice-chair of the International Association of Insurance Supervisors International Groups Working Group.
Neighbors joined the Department of Insurance in 1997 after 4 years with the Nebraska Workers’ Compensation Court. She holds a law degree from the University of Nebraska.
The Robert Dineen Award was established in 1989 to honor Dineen who founded NAIC’s Support and Services Office.
