Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) is expanding its service offerings and enhancing its presence in key industries with the acquisition of Acumen Solutions Group LLC, a full-service insurance agency based in Melville, New York.
The deal will bring Acumen’s specialized insurance expertise under MMA’s umbrella, allowing both firms to deliver a broader range of solutions to clients across the country.
Founded in 2012, Acumen provides tailored insurance programs for businesses and individuals, with a focus on the construction, real estate, and aviation industries.
As part of the acquisition, all Acumen employees, including its president Tony D’Elia, will join MMA, with operations continuing from the Melville office.
Jerry Alderman, CEO of MMA’s Northeast region, expressed his recognition of Acumen's expertise and client-focused approach, stating that MMA's expanded resources would enable the agency to deliver more comprehensive solutions to its clients.
“We have long admired Acumen’s industry expertise and commitment to clients. As part of Marsh McLennan Agency, Acumen will be able to offer a wider range of creative solutions and capabilities to clients in the region,” said Alderman.
D’Elia, who will remain with the company as part of the acquisition, highlighted the shared values between Acumen and MMA. He pointed to the alignment of their client-first principles and the enhanced resources that MMA can provide.
"MMA and Acumen share an unwavering commitment to operating with integrity and a client-first philosophy. This is an exciting next chapter for our agency as our colleagues gain access to enhanced resources and a powerful network of industry leaders that enable us to deliver even more advanced risk mitigation strategies for those we serve,” said D’Elia.
The acquisition is expected to broaden MMA's presence in the region and expand its portfolio of services. As part of Marsh McLennan, Acumen Solutions Group will have access to a larger network of capabilities to meet the evolving needs of its clients.
