Indianapolis-based risk management and employee benefits agency MJ Insurance has announced the appointment of Colorado-based Amy Weeks Bittner as vice president of business and community development.
The appointment is a key part of MJ Insurance plan to expand in Colorado. In her new role, Weeks Bittner will promote the company’s commitment to the community through board service, volunteering and community giving initiatives. She will also focus on new business development.
The appointment is the latest of several strategic hires as MJ Insurance continues to expand its Colorado footprint. The company entered the state in April 2022.
“Amy’s vast experience, industry knowledge and commitment to the community is a perfect marriage of meeting an internal and external need as we continue to grow MJ Insurance within Colorado,” said Courtney Houston, MJ Insurance’s Colorado market president. “We’re thrilled to welcome Amy to the team as we continue to find innovative ways to merge the intersection of community investment and business development.”
Weeks Bittner has more than 18 years of industry experience. She has served on the boards of the Women’s Bean Project, a job training program for chronically unemployed and impoverished women, and Firefly Autism, a Colorado-headquartered organization that works to improve mental and behavioral health for people with autism. She is also a member of the Colorado Neurodiversity Chamber of Commerce, the first chamber of its kind in the US.
MJ Insurance is one of the largest privately held insurance companies in America. Founded in 1964 as a two-person agency, it now has more than 200 employees and offices in Phoenix, Indianapolis and Denver.
