McGriff has announced that it plans to expand its southeastern Florida operations with a new headquarters office in Coral Gables and branch locations in Fort Lauderdale and Coral Gables later in the year. The company said that the move to a consolidated South Florida operation will include employees in its existing Miami and Plantation agencies.
Miami-Dade and Broward counties are expected to lead Florida in population growth and economic expansion through 2030, and their private-sector job growth leads the nation, McGriff said. As part of the consolidation, the company will also shift additional sales, service and support staff from outside the region to new or existing offices, as well as support offices in Fort Lauderdale and Weston.
“We’re excited about this expansion and certainly very bullish as a company on South Florida,” said Gray Davis, McGriff regional agency executive. “Tourism, population and employment growth, new construction, and the region’s business-friendly environment were all key drivers in this decision. From one new centralized headquarters in Coral Gables, we’ll be even better positioned to provide the highest levels of personalized service and risk management expertise, and to attract top industry talent.”
McGriff entered the South Florida market in 2009 with its acquisition of Oswald Trippe and Company. McGriff posted more than $121 million in Southeast regional revenues last year.
