Retail insurance broker McGriff has announced the appointment of Jimmy Conroy as vice president and marketing account executive for its energy practice based in Birmingham, Ala.
Conroy, who is based in Dallas, Texas, has nearly a decade of experience, with a special focus on renewable energy. Prior to joining McGriff, he served as vice president at a leading managing general underwriter focused on clean technology. Prior to that, he worked as an underwriter and senior renewable energy underwriter at a large global insurer and a national mutual insurance company.
“Jimmy brings a great deal of capabilities to our Renewables practice, having underwritten and advised companies in the sector for many years,” said Patrick Maguire, national director of specialty and energy practice leader for McGriff. “We are very excited for Jimmy to join our team and help support our valuable clients navigate risk in the rapidly evolving renewables industry.”
Conroy holds a bachelor's degree in environmental studies and biology from Denison University.
Conroy is the latest addition to McGriff’s roster. Earlier this month, the brokerage announced the appointment of Rodney Ledford strategic growth officer for its Small Business and Personal Lines division. In June, McGriff announced the promotion of company veteran Milton Smith to national director of surety.
