Full-service retail insurance broker McGriff has announced the appointment of Walter Viteri (pictured above) as senior vice president and commercial sales leader for its South Florida region.
In his new role, Viteri will focus on sales development and industry strategies for McGriff’s South Florida region. He will be based in Fort Lauderdale.
Viteri has 20 years of industry experience, all in the Florida marketplace. Prior to joining McGriff, he spent nearly five years as a client executive lead with a national broker. Viteri is involved in several industry associations, including the Risk and Insurance Management Society and the University Risk Management & Insurance Association.

“Walter is a unique talent, and his leadership will help position our firm for aggressive growth in Florida and beyond,” said Tom Beck, president of McGriff’s Florida region. “With his knowledge and experience related to the key issues and developing trends facing our clients and prospects, we are very excited to welcome him to our team.”
Viteri is McGriff’s latest appointment. Last month, the company promoted Taylor Mitcham to area managing executive for Arkansas. In August, it named Jason Dockery senior vice president and operations leader for its real estate and hospitality practice.
