Global professional services firm Lockton has revealed that it has appointed Kevin Cummings as president of its Phoenix location.

Cummings has been helping clients recover from and avoid disasters – particularly related to fires – since joining Lockton in 2011. Prior to that, he was an executive vice-president and partner at Willis Towers Watson (then known as Willis) for more than 15 years.

“Kevin has proven to be a great advocate for clients, and he also cares about the growth and development of our associates,” commented Lockton Mountain West operation chief operating officer Mark Bundy. “As we continue to grow our business in the Mountain West, Kevin’s leadership in Arizona will propel our associates to develop personally and professionally to adapt to our client’s evolving needs.”

Cummings has been recognized for his commitment to exceptional service. In one instance a few years ago, he answered his phone while he was on vacation in San Diego to find that one of his client’s warehouses had caught fire. Dropping everything, Cummings immediately coordinated with his team that Saturday morning regarding the issue, and even raced back to Phoenix to meet with the claims advocate and client as the warehouse burned.

Thanks to the efforts of his team, the client was able to get back to business within months of the fire.

“The Lockton family made it clear when they started our company in 1966 that we serve three constituents:  our clients, our associates and our communities,” said Cummings. “To me, staying true to this mission explains why we not only have the highest client retention rate in the business, but why we have the highest associate retention rate in the business too. Engaged and fulfilled happy associates make happy clients.”

Cummings has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Saint John’s University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He is also involved with the Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce as a board member and co-chair of the compliance and risk workforce collaborative. Cummings is also chairman of the Folds of Honor Arizona chapter, a member of the Arizona Counsel of Human Service Providers, as well as the Arizona Subcontractors Association.
