There will soon be a Lloyd’s of London office in Miami.
The news was revealed by Lloyd’s director general for Latin America and the Caribbean Daniel Revilla, who is country manager for Mexico as well. According to him, the insurance marketplace is implementing changes in the region to bolster its presence.
“We will set up an office in Miami to support and grow the Latin American and Caribbean markets alongside other market participants,” wrote Revilla in a letter published by iNLIP (independent Network of Latam Insurance Professionals).
“I will continue leading the Lloyd’s team across the region from the new office.”
It’s also been announced that, subject to regulatory approval, Yelhis Hernández will be named Mexico country manager. Meanwhile, the search for a new country manager in Colombia will commence following the decision of Juan Carlos Realphe to leave Lloyd’s.
In addition, Realphe’s successor will see the remit widen to include market development across Spanish-speaking South America.
Another development is Valdir Serra’s appointment as market development executive for Latin America and the Caribbean. The Lloyd’s stalwart most recently served as market development executive and analyst for Brazil.
“I am sure these changes will allow us to more effectively support the Lloyd’s market development in the region,” asserted Revilla.
