Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, today announced the appointment of Humberto Pozo as head of distribution for Latin America (LatAm) & US.

Pozo took up the role on January 1, 2025, having acted in an interim capacity since September 2024.

Pozo will continue in his current position as head of Third Party LatAm but will assume new responsibilities as part of this expanded role.

He will remain reporting to LSM's president and chief underwriting officer (CUO) of LatAm & US Manuel Moreno, and will commence dual reporting to Andrew Jackson, head of Client and Broker Distribution.

Pozo will work to develop and implement strategies that can strengthen LSM's presence in LatAm and the US markets. He and his team will work on delivering value to brokers and clients while maintaining the standards that partners have come to expect from LSM.

"We are thrilled Humberto has accepted the role permanently. I have no doubt that his proven expertise will contribute significantly to LSM's continued success in LatAm and the US," CUO Moreno shared.

Through his 17-year stay in LSM, Pozo showed a keen eye for market needs and good leadership. His underwriting expertise, customer-centric mindset and relationship skills position him as the ideal candidate to lead LSM's distribution efforts in the region.

Liberty Mutual Insurance likewise named new heads the previous month, including Marc Orloff as president of Global Risk Solutions (GRS) North America and Nicole Arangio as executive vice president and chief compliance officer (CCO).

Orloff’s appointment is effective starting January 1, while Arangio will assume her new role on April 1 following a transition period.

Liberty Specialty Markets, part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, offers specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance products across key UK, European, Middle East, US, Bermuda, Asia Pacific & Latin America markets employing over 2,000 in around 60 offices. Its parent company, Liberty Mutual, is the eighth-largest global property and casualty insurer based on 2023 gross written premium with over 40,000 people in 29 countries.
