Liberty Mutual has appointed two new chief underwriting officers – one for its excess casualty segment, and the other for its public entities and programs segment.
Jon Tellekamp has been named chief underwriting officer for national insurance, excess casualty. He is responsible for driving profitable growth in the retail admitted excess casualty space in his new role. Tellekamp joined Liberty Mutual in 2005 as a senior underwriter, and has since held several other roles of increasing responsibility in the energy and excess casualty practices, most recently as vice-president of national insurance excess casualty.
Dour Manwaring has been appointed to the role of chief underwriting officer for national insurance, public entities and programs. In the new role, Manwaring will focus on growing and expanding the practice. He will lead a team of underwriting professionals that helps K-12 school systems, government operations and higher education with their complex risks. He joined Liberty Mutual in 2007, serving numerous roles. Most recently, Manwaring was chief underwriting officer of excess casualty and programs.
Both Tellekamp and Manwaring will report to Liberty Mutual executive vice-president and general manager of national insurance specialty David Perez.
“We have dedicated industry and product teams that have been adding value to our brokers and customers for over 20 years by helping them better meet the complex needs of businesses that require a specialized focus on underwriting and services,” said Perez.
