Kaplansky Insurance continues to grow its presence in the New England area with its latest acquisition of Russ Towers Insurance Agency, which has locations in both Seekonk, MA and Tiverton, RI.
Founded in 1980 in Tiverton, RI, Russ Towers Insurance Agency is a family-run operation offering personal and business insurance services. Running the business alongside founder Russ Towers are his children – Donna Towers Lemos, Scott Towers, and Mark Towers. In 1988, Donna’s husband John opened a second location in Seekonk, MA.
Under the terms of the acquisition, Donna will join Kaplansky Insurance as agency manager of the Seekonk office, while her husband John Lemos will serve as personal lines account manager.
“This is the start of a new chapter for us,” said Kaplansky Insurance president and CEO Ely Kaplansky. “As we continue to grow and expand our business, uniting with Russ Towers Insurance Agency allows us to reach clientele based in the Rhode Island area and continue our expansion into additional New England states.”
Headquartered in Needham, MA, Kaplansky’s acquisition of Russ Towers Insurance is its 36th overall, and its second for 2021.

In February, Kaplansky Insurance acquired the Lowell, MA-based agency Staite Insurance. Staite Insurance offers RMV services, and both automobile and homeowner’s insurance to customers in the Merrimack Valley.
