Alliant Insurance Services has named Jason Bertoldi (pictured above) as global team leader for litigation and contingent risk insurance within its M&A division.
Bertoldi brings extensive experience in contingent risk insurance, hedge fund analysis, and litigation, offering expertise in developing bespoke insurance policies and structuring transactions that use these policies as investment collateral.
Bertoldi has been involved in securing some of the industry’s largest contingent risk insurance policies, including several valued in the nine-figure range. He is recognized as a Chambers Band 1 litigation insurance broker and a prominent figure in the contingent risk insurance sector.
Before joining Alliant, Bertoldi worked on the Litigation Investing team at the D. E. Shaw group, a global investment and technology firm managing over $60 billion in investment and committed capital.
He previously served as a litigator at Susman Godfrey LLP and clerked for both the US District Court for the Southern District of New York and the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Bertoldi holds a law degree from Yale Law School.
“Jason offers unmatched expertise in structuring and obtaining cutting-edge contingent risk insurance solutions for clients requiring highly bespoke insurance solutions,” said Dan Schoenberg, executive vice president at Alliant M&A. “Leveraging his background as a front-office finance analyst, Jason has helped clients obtain hundreds of millions of dollars in financing collateralized by contingent risk insurance policies.”
Recently, Alliant also announced Larry Chim as its new senior vice president within the employee benefits group, based in Dallas, Texas.
Chim is tasked with addressing challenges in healthcare benefits through strategic solutions that align with client needs. He will focus on benefits design, strategy, pricing, administration, healthcare innovation, and vendor management.
