The Insurance Office of America (IOA) has announced the promotion of John Tenuto to executive vice president of enterprise initiatives, marking a significant step following his previous position as president of the Western Division.
Meanwhile, the reins of the Western Division of the IOA has been recently handed over to Paul Sullivan, who has been with the firm since 2009.
In a Press release, it was noted that Tenuto, who joined IOA in 2005, was instrumental in establishing the company's first branch office in California. In his new role, he will have a widespread impact across the company, offering executive support for strategic objectives related to IOA's industry and product practices, risk services, and producer support initiatives.
He will also maintain his position on the IOA Board of Directors, drawing on his extensive leadership experience to foster the development of both current and future IOA leaders.
Tenuto began his career in the insurance industry in 1985 and established his own agency in 1994, which was later acquired by a major firm in 2001. He has worked with several leading brokerages in both Northern and Southern California, honing his expertise in providing property and casualty risk management and insurance solutions, particularly for design- and construction-related firms.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from California State University and has been a frequent speaker at various industry loss prevention and risk management seminars for over two decades.
“From the beginning, John has played an integral part of IOA’s growth and success in the Western Division. He is a positive and consistent force as he guides his team to meet the considerable challenges of today’s insurance market in this unique region of the country. We’re very fortunate for John to progress to the national level, and I look forward to working together as we execute on the strategic plans of our organization,” IOA CEO Jeff Lagos said.
