AAA insurer CSAA Insurance Group has made things official for Mike Zukerman (pictured), who was elected president and chief executive with immediate effect after serving as interim CEO for the past nine months.
Lifting the lid on the appointment, board chair Mary Hennessy noted: “Mike has demonstrated excellent leadership while serving as the interim CEO.
“With a deep understanding of both the business and the importance of our AAA club partners, there is no doubt that he is the right person to lead CSAA Insurance Group moving forward.”
Zukerman’s tenure at CSAA Insurance Group began over a decade ago when he joined as executive vice president and chief legal officer. He served in those capacities until his interim CEO appointment last year.
Currently, Zukerman is a board member of the American Property Casualty Insurance Association, the California Chamber of Commerce, and the Bay Area Council. The industry stalwart’s credentials also include time spent at GeoVera Holdings, Critical Path, Sega, and Netopia.
Commenting on his now permanent role at the helm, Zukerman said: “I am grateful for the tremendous support of our board of directors, and it is an honor to lead an organization that is deeply committed to serving AAA members and our AAA club partners.
“With the combination of a strong leadership team, incredibly talented employees, and a customer-focused culture, CSAA is well-positioned to achieve our business goals this year and into the future.”
Zukerman stepped up in an interim capacity in August 2023 following Tom Troy’s decision to resign in pursuit of other opportunities.
At the time, Zukerman had this to say: “Each of us who has worked with Tom can say without hesitation that he leaves us better than he found us.
“I am humbled to take on this new role and continue our work to provide exceptional products and services to AAA members and policyholders – including our Mobilitas Insurance customers.”
Trading since 1914, CSAA Insurance Group provides automobile, home, and other personal lines of insurance to AAA members in 23 states and the District of Columbia.
