“Insurance is complex but incredibly important,” said Ted Devine, carrier Insureon’s chief executive in a trade report.

Small Business Trends said that the company has made a software tool available that allows users to identify their business insurance requirements based on basic facts relating to their operations, company type, the nature of business, clientele and work location.

The tool is available on Insureon’s Policy Buddy page. It presents multiple choices to best describe the way a specific business works and provides insurance needs assessment in a matter of minutes, according to the report.

Citing The New York Times, the report said that 40% of small businesses do not have insurance, while 60% of home based enterprises are not adequately covered.

The tool allows users to identify their insurance needs and choose from Insureon’s menu of products and policies, which start at $34 a month.
