IMS gets new vice president of sales for the Americas
IMS, a telematics and connected insurance solutions provider, has appointed Sean Farrelly (pictured left) as vice president of sales for the Americas.
Farrelly, who previously held senior roles at Arity and LexisNexis Risk Solutions, will report to David Lukens, senior vice president for North America. His appointment follows a period of international business growth for IMS, including the addition of several new insurer accounts.
Assuming his role early this month, Farrelly will be based in Connecticut. He noted that the company’s recent growth, including award wins and new partnerships, presents an opportunity to expand the business.
Lukens said that Farrelly will oversee business development for strategic accounts in North America, a key market for the expansion of usage-based insurance (UBI) products. He emphasized IMS’s role in supporting insurers with connected insurance products that enhance customer engagement.
“IMS is in a great position to support our global insurer partners to meet the challenges of operating in this space; in particular providing connected insurance products that customers can fully engage with,” Lukens said.
Coalition, an active insurance provider focused on digital risk prevention, has appointed Maha Virudhagiri as its first chief technology officer.
Virudhagiri will lead the company’s engineering, IT, information security, data and artificial intelligence efforts. He will report to CEO and co-founder Joshua Motta as part of the executive team.
Virudhagiri previously spent nearly seven years at Tesla, where he led the global digital experience organization. He has also held leadership roles at Ancestry and Walmart Labs, overseeing engineering teams and platform development.
“We’re thrilled to have Maha join our team to help Coalition scale our engineering efforts as we continue to create the most innovative cyber insurance solutions in the world,” Motta said. “As our new CTO, Maha will focus on advancing our technology strategy and making our security and insurance solutions more accessible and scalable as Coalition works to protect all types of businesses across the globe.”
