Several major insurance firms have announced leadership appointments aimed at strengthening their operations across key business segments.

WTW appoints head of transactional insurance claims

Willis, a WTW business, has named Dom Spinelli as head of transactional insurance claims for North America.

Spinelli will oversee claims within Willis’ Alternative Asset Insurance Solutions (AAIS) division, managing claims for representations and warranties, tax, and contingent risks. He brings 15 years of experience in insurance and litigation, including prior roles at VALE Insurance Partners and Liberty Global Transaction Solutions, as well as a background in underwriting and commercial litigation. Spinelli will report to Simone Bonnet, head of transactional insurance solutions, North America, and will be based in Boston.

BHSI announces casualty leadership updates

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has made a series of leadership changes within its North America casualty division.

Matt Hale has been appointed head of US casualty underwriting operations, where he will oversee regional underwriting teams and coordinate strategy with Galan Riley, head of casualty for Canada.

Marcie Stephan will lead BHSI’s casualty business in the US Central Region, excluding construction. Meanwhile, John Roe has been named head of North American construction, overseeing construction casualty and liability lines and coordinating with Canadian operations.

All three will help advance BHSI’s North American casualty strategies.

Hub strengthens US benefits and retirement leadership

Hub International Limited has named Mustafa Faizani (pictured left) as executive vice president of US employee benefits and retirement & private wealth, effective May 5, 2025.

Michael Booth (pictured right) will become president of Hub’s US Employee Benefits Practice, succeeding Mike Barone, who transitions into a new role focused on M&A and talent development.

Faizani has nearly two decades of experience in employee benefits and retirement consulting. He previously held leadership roles at a global health and retirement firm.

Booth joined HUB in 2015 and was most recently chief sales officer for US employee benefits. He will oversee HUB’s employee benefits practice, which includes more than 5,000 professionals providing consulting, analytics, compliance, and workforce solutions.

Zurich North America adds management liability head

Zurich North America has appointed Eric Amadori as head of management liability – public. He joins from Markel, where he was managing director of the management professional liability team. He has also held leadership roles at Arch Insurance and AIG.
