Recent leadership appointments are shaping the future of major players in the insurance sector. Salama, World Insurance Associates, Acrisure, and Genworth have all announced key executive hires, signaling their ongoing growth and innovation strategies.
Salama, a regional insurer, has appointed Mohamed Ali Bouabane (pictured left) as Group chief executive officer. His appointment is effective immediately, as Salama continues to solidify its presence as a provider of Takaful insurance solutions.
Bouabane, who previously served as CEO of AIG GCC & North Africa, brings over two decades of experience in the insurance sector across Canada, Dubai, and Hong Kong. His background in risk management, digital transformation, and market expansion is expected to support Salama's continued growth and digital innovation in the Middle East and Africa.
"His deep industry knowledge and leadership track record make him the ideal choice to drive our continued success," said His Excellency Fahad AlQassim, chairman of Salama.
Bouabane expressed his enthusiasm for joining Salama, emphasizing his commitment to delivering innovative insurance solutions and strengthening the company’s market position.
World Insurance Associates LLC has named James Robinson (pictured right) as Southeast Division revenue leader.
Robinson, who will work directly with Southeast Division leader Keith Roberts, will focus on driving profitable growth in the region. He brings over two decades of experience in the insurance industry, having previously worked as SVP Resident Sales Director at Aon plc and VP of Production at Marsh McLennan Agency.

Robinson expressed his enthusiasm for contributing to World’s growth, stating his excitement to partner with the team to innovate new solutions for clients in the Southeast.
Acrisure has appointed Mark Wassersug as chief technology officer and Shawn Pelsinger as chief administrative officer.
Wassersug, with 22 years of experience at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), will lead Acrisure’s IT initiatives and support its transformation into a global fintech leader. Meanwhile, Pelsinger, who previously served as global head of corporate development at Palantir Technologies, will oversee Acrisure’s legal, human resources, and regulatory functions.
Wassersug and Pelsinger are expected to play key roles in Acrisure’s continued growth, with their extensive experience in the fintech sector. Both leaders will report to Greg Williams, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Acrisure.
Genworth has appointed Morris Taylor as senior vice president and chief information officer (CIO), effective April 7.
Taylor, previously CIO at Markel, will be responsible for driving Genworth’s technology strategy and innovation. He joins Genworth after spending 25 years at Capital One, where he led major integration and technology transformation initiatives.
Taylor’s appointment is aimed at furthering the company’s efforts to deliver technology-enabled solutions for its customers.
