A series of senior leadership appointments have been made across the insurance industry.

Allianz Commercial names CFO

Hyeji Kang (pictured above, left) will become chief financial officer of both Allianz Commercial and Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty SE (AGCS), effective October 1, 2025, pending regulatory approval.

Kang is set to replace Oskar Buchauer (pictured above, right), who will step down after nearly three decades with the Allianz Group. Buchauer began his career with Allianz AG in 1998, initially leading life and health reinsurance efforts.

Kang previously served as CFO of Allianz Re and has deep technical and operational credentials. Since joining AGCS in 2015, she has held roles spanning actuarial leadership in the Americas, global reinsurance and catastrophe management, and performance steering.

Alliant strengthens benefits practice with West Coast appointment

Alliant Insurance Services has named Steve Wolfenberger as vice president in its Employee Benefits Group, with a focus on mid-sized employers across the US West Region.

Wolfenberger brings a background in underwriting, consulting and analytics, and has worked extensively on employee education and communication programmes aimed at improving benefits utilisation.

Novatae appoints innovation-focused VP to lead data strategy

Novatae Risk Group has appointed Anju Arora (pictured immediately above, left) as vice president of data, business intelligence and innovation. The newly created role positions Arora at the centre of the firm’s efforts to integrate actuarial, underwriting, claims, and technology functions to support long-term profitability.

Arora joined the firm on July 15 and is now part of the executive leadership team. She most recently served at Ethos Specialty, part of Ascot Group, and has held actuarial and consulting roles at AXA XL, The Hartford and Deloitte.

RPS promotes Adrianna Rivera to lead personal lines growth segment

Risk Placement Services (RPS) has named Adrianna Rivera (pictured immediately above, right) as national personal lines practice leader.

Rivera has been with RPS since 2011 and has played a key role in scaling the firm’s Florida personal lines operations. Under her leadership, the Fort Lauderdale office’s personal lines team grew from a one-person unit into a $20 million book of business. She will continue to be based in Fort Lauderdale and report to Matt Lynch, president of binding at RPS.
