Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. completes the purchase of St. Louis-based Imbs Holdings, Inc., a retail insurance broker serving commercial and personal lines clients across the United States.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Chris Imbs and his team will join Gallagher’s South Central retail property/casualty brokerage operations, reporting to regional leader Bret VanderVoort.

“The Imbs team’s market expertise and outstanding client relationships will enhance our retail brokerage capabilities in the region,” said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. “I am delighted to welcome Chris and his associates to Gallagher.”

This latest US deal follows Gallagher’s continued international expansion, with the firm also announcing the acquisition of Australia-based Tresidder Insurance Brokers just days earlier.

Operating out of Victoria and Queensland, Tresidder provides property and casualty services for commercial and personal lines clients and specializes in sectors including manufacturing, food and beverage, biotech, and agriculture.

“Tresidder Insurance Brokers is a highly regarded firm that will enhance our client-service capabilities in Australia,” Gallagher said. The Tresidder team will join Gallagher’s Australia specialty broking division.
