The Fairbanks-based Rural Alaska specializes in property and casualty insurance. The agency’s president, John Kohler, Jr., will join Hub Northwest and report to executive vice-president Steve Wagner.

Last month, Hub International purchased Delisle Agencies in Saskatchewan, Canada. The global insurance brokerage also acquired Integro Canada at around the same period. Both Canadian acquisitions were reported as surprises, as several private equity backers in the region were said to be looking to sell stakes in the broker.

“Hub International Limited is committed to growing organically and through acquisitions to expand its geographic footprint and strengthen industry and product expertise,” the company said in its release.
