HUB International Limited has announced the appointment of Carol Murphy (pictured above) as its North American casualty practice leader.

In her new role, Murphy will oversee the continued development of HUB’s casualty practice, focusing on expanding strategic solutions to address client needs across multiple industries and exposures.

Murphy joined HUB in January 2023 and has played a key role in the growth and development of the casualty practice. With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, she has received multiple industry recognitions, including Insurance Business America’s Elite Women 2023.

Her focus will be on expanding insurance solutions and strengthening HUB’s casualty expertise to attract and develop talent across North America.

"Organizations today are experiencing unprecedented increases in volatility due to growing challenges in casualty risk from rising violence, worsening highway safety and deteriorating legal climate, among others," Murphy said.

Chris Treanor, HUB president of programs and specialties, said that tapping Murphy for the role highlights the firm’s emphasis investing in commercial lines technical capabilities, which he says is central to HUB’s growth strategy,

Murphy’s appointment follows several other key expansions for the brokerage. Earlier this month, the company also launched HUB Private Client Equine Risk Advisory Services, a new offering designed to help high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients manage risks related to horse ownership, riding, training and equestrian activities.

Last week also saw HUB’s acquisition of Yavitz Insurance Group, a privately owned insurance agency based in St. Louis, Mo. The company provides commercial and personal insurance solutions for individuals and businesses since 1921.

Outside of acquisitions and new offerings, HUB also announced an expanded partnership with CyberCube to integrate software and services and enhance its cyber risk analytics capabilities for clients across North America.
