Hub International Limited (HUB) has announced the appointment of Tim DeSett as North American commercial lines president.
DeSett will oversee the insurance brokerage company’s strategy for commercial lines, aiming to drive organic growth. HUB’s commercial lines segment accounts for nearly 50% of its total revenue.
In his new position, DeSett will work closely with the company’s executive team, business segments, and resource leaders. The focus will be on key areas such as industry specialties, product lines, complex risk, and middle-market businesses. His role includes integrating HUB’s capabilities to enhance the value of service provided to clients.

DeSett will report to Chris Treanor, HUB’s president of programs & specialties.
Treanor described the move as an important step for HUB’s specialized commercial lines practice.
“Tim brings a wealth of experience and leadership to HUB, and his expertise will be instrumental in broadening our capabilities and achieving optimal outcomes for our clients,” said Treanor.
DeSett joins HUB with over three decades of experience in the insurance industry. His previous role was as executive vice president at Lockton, where he oversaw an $850 million global operation. This position involved managing risk for middle-market and small business segments, as well as leading strategies for 10 industry groups.
DeSett has also worked as head of North America Field Operations and Distribution for AIG, where he managed commercial business operations across the US, Canada, and Bermuda.
