Hub International Limited has announced that it has acquired the insurance brokerage assets of Charles R. (Rhett) Butler. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Butler was part of Nationwide’s exclusive distribution model, and is joining Hub after transitioning to an independent broker.
Butler, who is based in Rockville, Md., offers full-service personal and commercial insurance, including home, auto and commercial. He will join Hub and report to Dennis O’Neill, president of Hub’s Greater Philadelphia region.
Hub said that the acquisition will strengthen its personal insurance offerings. Since last year, the company has acquired 18 agencies that were previously exclusive Nationwide agents and subsequently became independent.
