Hub International has acquired the assets of Liberty New Gate Insurance Services in Watsonville, CA.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Liberty New Gate has been in business for over 35 years as a commercial insurance provider specializing in the agriculture and horticulture sector - the company has expertise in creating behavior-based occupational health and safety plans.
The acquisition of Liberty New Gate and its agribusiness specialization supports Hub’s recent launch of its specialty practices.
As part of the acquisition, Liberty New Gate president Matt Muirhead will join Hub California. He will report to Hub California senior vice-president Darren Caesar.
The move marks a return to US acquisitions for Hub after last month it went on an M&A spree across Canada, picking up Frontier Business Centre in Saskatchewan, as well as Clearwater Insurance Group, Access Insurance Brokers and Benefit Broker Services in Ontario.
