The Hartford has expanded its partnership with Workday, a financial management and human resources management platform, to provide better wellness experiences to its employees and customers.

The company became an inaugural Workday Wellness partner. Workday Wellness is a recently launched, AI-powered offering designed to connect employers and employees to expert wellness partners, providing a more personalized experience that reduces costs and administration hours.

It also helps employers measure the effectiveness of their programs and adapt their benefits to better meet their employees’ needs.

Workday Wellness will leverage Illuminate, Workday’s other AI-powered solution, and Workday Peakon Employee Voice to provide companies with real-time insights into which benefits and wellness offerings their employees use so that they can improve their programs and offer new services.

Employers who work with Hartford will also get streamlined evidence of insurability application process; automated eligibility data that eliminates the need for file feeds and allows real-time data exchanges to improve the claims process, and real-time leave decisions and status that reduce manual work in recording employee absences and return-to-work plans.

“Our employee benefits customers strategically invest their time and resources into human resources technology solutions to manage their benefits and enhance employee well-being,” said Mike Fish, head of group benefits at The Hartford.

According to the company’s 2024 Future of Benefits study, 62% of respondent HR professionals said their daily responsibilities have increased in the past few years. A majority, or 82%, said HR technology has made their jobs easier and 83% said that HR technology should simplify the information for them and their employees.

The study also noted that generational shift is becoming more complex for employers as they also address evolving employee needs amid changes in technology. Three in five US workers, for example, experience some level of burnout at work, with Gen Z employees reporting a higher frequency compared with other generations.

In September, The Hartford partnered with Progressive Insurance to launch initiatives aimed at supporting small businesses and addressing mental health awareness.
