Specialty insurance and automotive lifestyle company Hagerty has revealed that it will establish a new operations center in Dublin, OH.
A release explained that, once opened, the new facility will employ some 200 full-time IT, licensed sales agents, claims and insurance product professionals. Hagerty mentioned that the Columbus region’s “vibrant business community, automotive sector and highly skilled employee base” will help the company continue its growth in North America. Hiring for the new facility begins in Q4 2019.
On top of providing employment opportunities, the new center will also extend Hagerty’s geographic coverage, allowing the company to provide inbound support to members of the Hagerty Drivers Club in the region, as well as to service new and existing insurance policies.
“What we’re seeing is a real community forming around the love of driving and cars, with Hagerty as the hub,” said Hagerty CEO McKeel Hagerty. “Our mission is support, celebrate and enable car fans and car culture in every way that we can.”
Hagerty reported that, for this year, millennials and Gen Xers surpassed the massive Baby Boom generation as the driving force in the enthusiast vehicle market. Both millennials and Gen Xers were requesting insurance and vehicle value data from Hagerty by a 53-47% margin.
“This shift was inevitable given the combined size of these generations,” commented Hagerty, who added that it is great to see the younger generation getting into cars as much as their parents and grandparents.
