Great American Insurance Group has announced the promotion of Todd D. Gambrell (pictured) to divisional president of its excess liability division, effective January 1, 2025.
He will take over from John V. Bracca, who is set to retire in January after more than 30 years with the company.
Gambrell has been with the Cincinnati-based insurance provider since 1994, holding various leadership positions within the excess liability division. Most recently, he served as divisional senior vice president. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management Science from the University of Georgia.
The excess liability division provides coverage with large liability limits designed to protect corporate assets against significant losses. The division offers up to $20 million in capacity for lead umbrella and excess liability placements. Clients range from single-location light hazard risks to manufacturers and processors with more complex insurance needs. Policies are underwritten by Great American Insurance Company, which is authorized to operate in all 50 US states and the District of Columbia.
Earlier this year, Great American Insurance Group announced the promotions of Jonathan M. Goldman and Kenneth R. Nieberding to divisional president positions, effective July 1, 2024. Goldman now leads Strategic Comp, while Nieberding oversees operations at Great American Risk Solutions.
Founded in 1872, Great American Insurance Group has roots in its flagship company, Great American Insurance Company. The company specializes in property and casualty insurance, focusing on commercial products tailored for businesses.
