GEICO’s board of directors has elected Marouf Ahmed and Connie Lynch as new officers. Ahmed was named assistant vice-president of management development and Lynch was named assistant vice-president of claims legal.
Ahmed joined GEICO in 2003 as a sales agent based in Woodbury, NY. He was later promoted to sales supervisor, which prompted his transfer to the Buffalo, NY regional office in 2004. In 2006, he was promoted to sales manager, then another year later joined the service department as a manager.
In 2010, Ahmed joined GEICO’s corporate HQ in Chevy Chase, MD as a business project manager. A year later, he was promoted to multi-line process coordinator. He then joined the IT division, where he led digital modernization efforts. He then transferred to the San Diego, CA regional office in 2014 to serve as director of service operations. In 2017, he returned to corporate HQ to serve as director of the GEICO Management Academy.
Lynch was a defense attorney in private practice before joining GEICO in 1997. Her first role at GEICO was as a trial attorney for the company’s staff counsel. She later transferred to the claims legal division in 2008, where she would serve roles of increasing responsibility such as senior claims attorney and managing attorney.
“Both Connie and Marouf have amply demonstrated their readiness to take on these new assignments,” said GEICO president and CEO Todd Combs in a statement.
